Stopping Panic Attack Tips

If you suffer from panic attacks, it is likely to come without warning and make you impotent when it hits. No matter how many times you have faced these attacks, at the time of the attack, the first reaction you feel is fear.  The best way to suppress these attacks is to understand the symptoms and causes .

In order to stop the attacks, you should take charge and try to get a feel for all the symptoms of the attacks.  Which includes one or more of the following:

- Perspiration
- Choking
- Hypervenilation
- Nausea or dizziness
- Rapid heartbeat
- Chest pain or stomach pain

These symptoms can be alarming, but not as harmful. They are only there because of a danger imagined by the mind. Once you realize you can not do damage, you can take steps to control them.

Second, you need to learn about the cause of these attacks. The attacks happen because they are caused by some reason. Most of these reasons are related to stress because of situations or events in his life. The causes include:

- Genetic or hereditary family history of anxiety disorders
- Physician-mostly heart problems
- Substance abuse and withdrawal
- Phobias, extreme fear about certain objects or events
- Traumatic events in the past.

People with panic disorders are unable to control the amount of stress caused by these events and therefore suffers from attacks.

Once you learn about the causes and symptoms of panic attacks, you can take steps to stop effectively. You can avoid situations or objects that trigger attacks in the first place. You can stop them by one or more of the following methods.

- Learn relaxation techniques that help you maintain control during attacks.
- Seek help from professionals such as counseling and therapy to stop the attacks. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is most successful for panic attacks. The therapist will help you learn more about the causes of their attacks and then you can cope with the problems and prevent them from happening again.
- Medicines should only be used under medical supervision in very serious cases. That have side effects that could cause more problems instead of reducing them.

It is important that you have a positive approach to stopping your panic attacks.   Once you recognize all the symptoms take charge of the situation, the sense of endangerment should slowly subside through time.
