I’d like to know too – I have all the singles plus the LP and a cassette of the Loud Guitars, but I’d be realy interested in anything else or live tapes, etc

anyone have any idea where we can get songs from loud guitars? we used to go to the playhouse in Newcastle every week in the late 80′s to see them and are kicking ourselves that we didn’t buy a tape! any ideas where we can get any of their albums from would be great! Thanks

This is amazing – I am going through all the White Heat youtube links and came across this!! I was surprised there was anything of White Heat on, so thanks to Sarah Fish. Great that your dad is still playing. When I come over to the Toon I hope his band’s on somewhere

the white heat video is on youtube, finally!! (i didn’t do it, i had significant help, thank you michael!) I don’t think you can search for it yet because it only went on this morning but you’ll probably be able to find it later this afternoon/evening. Enjoy!

My brother got me into White Heat when I was about 13 or 14. They split up when I was still at school and reformed as The loud Guitars a few years later. Me and my mate used to go and watch them on a Sunday lunch time when they played the Playhouse in Newcastle. We were at the final show at Inventions bar in Newcastle which was a belta. I still get the tapes out a listen to them, I would love to get hold of a copy of Question Of Pride from a live performance.

Well cool to “meet” Sarah here – only found this vid because I was googling your Dad’s name to re-find the Attention Seekers site so I could check if he had any gigs while I’m back in Newcastle for a few days!

Need any help getting the the videos up, let me know. Not actually digitised it yet, but I have the Loud Guitars / White Heat video & a capture card back in Manchester.

  12. geordiemanc68 says:

    Wow indeed.
My brother & sister were big White Heat Fans, I was too young but saw their re-incarnation as The Loud Guitars hundreds of times. Actually been listening to them quite a bit recently as just finished digitising my collection of White Heat & Loud Guitars bootleg tapes!

Great to hear somebody covering Bob & Alan’s songs – there were some amazing songs in their song book – even if the band didn’t work out – those songs should have been massive for somebody else!

White Heat is popular in the people of the 70′s punk/powerpop/mod revival enthusiast in Japan.
I’m looking forward to White Heat video!

  14. Sarahfishy99 says:

Thank you for the reply, your English is very good. We’re just amazed that the song has found its way over to Japan – White Heat released it in England in 1979! Unfortunately White Heat disbanded in 1982 but Dad has still continued to play, write and record in other bands. We’ve got a video of White Heat performing Nervous Breakdown that I’m going to try to upload to youtube.
    Sarah

  15. bslaaifs says:

Thanks for comment. Your dad is great.

First Alert is disbanded. Because I knew them after disbanded, I don’t know the detailed. but probably they and audience will like White Heat very much. (me too.)

    I’m poor at English. sorry.

  16. Sarahfishy99 says:

Wow, my Dad, Alan Fish was a guitarist in White Heat and co-wrote this song! Its quite exciting to see this on youtube. How on earth did First Alert come across the song?! Do you cover any other White Heat songs?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
    Sarah
