Question by ステラ☮: Marijuana Induced Panic Attack?
So I got high for the first time not too long ago. It was fine at first, but then I felt strange. It felt as if everything around me was a dream and I was re-living the same second over and over again. I forgot who my friend was…I thought she was a stranger. A long story short, I felt like I was dying. I called an ambulance and made a complete a** out of myself. The next day I did some research on the internet and found that what happened to me is somewhat common. I had a “Marijuana Induced Panic Attack.” The confusing part of this is that I would like to smoke again, but would this happen to me again? Which I don’t want it to, because it was the most terrifying experience of my life.
Hmm???
It wasn’t laced, because my friend was fine and she smoked too. It was definitely just me…
Lmao…wow. I got some funny answers:)

Anxiety and paranoia are common with smoking Marijuana, but a panic attack seems a little unusual and for you to have near hallucinations makes me think it may have been laced with something.

you will probably do the same thing and you should stop because calling an ambulance is not a good idea if your trying to hide when your high. your ruining this for the rest of us who like to smoke and NOT get caught.
It may very well happen again, and as with any drug, you should be careful, since many can cause you to hallucinate to the point where you’ll go mad and kill yourself. That’s a bit extreme, but there are a lot of minor side effects as well…
After you’ve done it a few times, the marijuana shouldn’t have this much of an effect on you, but you should have at least one friend around who’s not high, just in case something goes wrong, and nobody else is in a fit state to get help.
That will happen to you again. Marijuana affects everyone differently and in your case a very negative way. It induces paranoia. Even if you take it again with different results, continued usage over time can also lead to panic attacks. Why would you want to bring that kind of thing onto yourself?
i dont think itd be wise to get high again you would most likely just make an ass of yourself again. weed can cause paranoa if you dont know how to control it then you panic which obviously is what happened to you. so i would like to know why the f$#k would you want to do all that again?? who has to pay for your ambulance bill?? thats gets expensive and im sure the emts are very busy.
Sounds funn

ahah. well i think either your body isn’t right for weed or your weed was laced with something else which could if enough of the laced substance is on it you could have another panic attack and even possibly die.
Marijuana affects some people differently. It might happen again, it might not. Why risk it? Why relive the worst experience of your life?
Hello, Once you have had a panic attack (anxiety attack) chances are Yes! You will have another attack. Some people get panic attacks from smoking the plant. Some people don’t. You do. So I wouldn’t do it anymore if I were you because next time the attack could be much more scary. Plus too you never know if what your smoking could be laced with anything like PCP for example. It’s it really worth the risk?
Umm No.
This is how I had my first panic attack. I was smoking pot early in the morning with my then bf and got so terrified all of a sudden and refused to let him leave me. I thought I was dying. He just stayed with me until I calmed down. Smoking it after that didn’t cause panic attacks, but I developed panic disorder a couple of years down the road after quitting pot altogether. Everyone’s different. It may induce it in you again and it may not. I think it’s better to be safe than sorry.
